Lies of P throws you into a phenomenally crafted world for you to become engulfed. This was my first Souls game, so this review is less so through the lens of "if you like Bloodborne, you will/will not like this game" etc, as I think this can convolute much of the game's intricate value. There were many bosses I immediately cherished and looked forward to fighting again, and this was even true for the final boss, which had me calling myself profanity more often than I’d like to admit. You’re a special puppet after all.įrom fighting various enemies in a single arena to frustrating mechanics, the fact that I managed to pass through it says something about the game’s balancing in general - it’s not great, but it’s not terrible.
